  • INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

    • 500gms Prawns / Shrimp– (Cleaned & Deveined)
    • 1 sprig Curry leaves
    • 2 Green Chilli chopped
    • 2 tbsp Coconut Oil

    For the Marinade:

    • 2 tsp Chilli powder
    • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
    • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
    • Salt to taste
    • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Method

    1. In a mixing bowl, add turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger paste, and salt.
    2. Remove the shells of the prawns. Lay the prawns down and run a sharp knife along the back/center of the prawns, then pull its vein, it should come away in one piece.
    3. Add the prawns to the marinade and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
    4. Heat oil in a pan, and then add the curry leaves and green chilly. Then add the marinated prawns.
    5. Fry the prawns on one side approximately for four minutes. Stir them, and fry the prawns on the other side too for another four minutes. By the end of eight minutes, prawns will be cooked and would look dark brown in color. Turn off the stove.
    6. Can be served hot as a starter or as an accompaniment for rice.
    Notes
    Overcooking the prawns will make it tough.
    The prawns need to be cleaned and deveined before cooking. You get to buy cleaned and deveined prawns from the market which can also be used.
    Do not add water while marinating it. Just tossing them till well-coated is enough.
